Love Universal is a Christian organisation that has the vision of restoring families to their God given mandate of love. Mrs Valeria Baidoo, the vision bearer, had this great burden to want to help families to understand that it was still possible to return to God's original mandate for the family. This is to become the basic unit of the society, where children will be nurtured to grow into responsible and godly adults. As part of that larger vision, we focus on building a strong foundation of God in children so that when they grow up, they will not depart from it.
DETAILED ANALYSIS OF OUR PROJECTS
SHINE MAGAZINE: The print-out was released July 2009 as a response to the need for parents to help children to do their daily devotional. This way we are able to not just increase parent child contact time but more importantly we are able to help children imbibe biblical principles that go a long way to help them understand their God given purpose in order to pursue it. Since its inception, we have an average of sixty thousand magazines printed and distributed. By the help of international requests that we have received and processed, the magazine has been sold in Canada, India, Gambia, and Egypt.
SHINE TV: Born out of the magazine concept, Shine TV was a pure response to the demand of children for Shine Magazine to be represented in the media space. There is no doubt that media plays a key role in the lives of children these days, and they do spend a lot of time with them, especially television. No wonder that at the launch of Shine TV in October 2014, the response was so overwhelming both locally and abroad because Multi TV, the station we were airing the program on, had an international reach. Currently, we air a five-minute daily devotional on our various social media platforms as well as a thirty-minute club time on Joy Prime.
SHINE PROGRAMS
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: Our Shine VBS started in 2018 and has since been one of our main discipleship tools. It involves a three-day experienced packed with an adventure through the Bible. So far our themes: Heroes of the Bible, I wonder, Into the Deep and The Bible My Light have left children appreciate God’s word better. We have had over 500 children being disicipled since its inception. The regions we have covered include Gbawe, Adenta, Kasoa,Tema Takoradi, Kumasi, Capecoast.
SHINE SUMMER CAMP: Our annual one-week-long camping experience has been lauded by most parents over the years because of the impact on the children. It targets children from ages 5 to 16 years, and it is organized during the long vacation period.
SHINE CHRISTMAS FAIR: This is an annual fun even to crown the year. It involves games and fun activities as well as sharing a Christmas themed message.
SHINE CONFERENCES- Termly leadership and mentoring conferences for school children for schools in selected communities. We have three main types of conference, namely; Stand Out and Shine Conference, Read To Lead Conferences and Peer Counselling Conferences.
SHINE CARE: Our welfare ministry which was birthed in 2021 as a result for the need to reach out to less privileged children has been a blessing ever since its inception. Shine Care undertakes various projects every month to put a smile on the faces of children. These projects include our Orphanage outreaches, community outreach and Government School Outreaches. These outreaches donate stationery, food, clothes, shoes as well as some of our Shine magazines. A follow-up club is done in our orphanages to ensure a continuous discipleship. Some of the children from these orphanages are also sponsored by individuals to attend our annual Shine Summer Camp.
SHINE KIDS CLUBS: Weekly meetings of fun learning and activity for children in their various schools and community clubs.
SHINE CITY: Our latest inclusion is our centre which provides a conducive environment where children can spend quality time learning various things. It includes a day care and Preschool, After school and weekend programme and Library services.
